  1. Champaign Lion's Chatter (Click here to go to our website) 12 December 2012 Call to Order – President Ted Gonsiorowski called the meeting to order and led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

  2. Invocation – David Hunter – Dear heavenly Father, we thank Thee for this food, these friends and their spice. And if that's not the plural of spouses, and mouses for mice and for houses, hice? Help us to understand, oh Lord, this twenty twelve... twelve... twelve. Amen. Vittles – Salad and Toppings, Baked Chicken with Cherry Glaze, Mixed Vegetables, Hash Browned Potatoes, Rolls and Butter, Shrimp Cocktail, Prime Rib Au Jus, and Lemon Cake with Strawberry Santa or sugar-free apple pie.

  3. Birthdays – None. Attendance – 28 Members. Guests – Our guests today were: Ted Gonsiorowski’s wife Claudette who works at Ramshaw Realty,

  4. Paul Kunkel’s wife, Pauline and their grandson, Benjamin King,

  5. Floyd Gordon’s wife of 62 years, Phyllis,

  6. David Hunter’s wife of 63 years, Carole Ann,

  7. Bob Tuchel’s wife of 70 years, Wanda,

  8. Homer Kuder’s friend, Phyllis Russel,

  9. Fonda Bowden’s husband of 29 years, Larry,

  10. Marvin Paulsen’s wife of 42 years, Karen,

  11. Lew Laymon’s daughter, Martha Morgan,

  12. Sam McGrew’s wife of 47 years, Sara,

  13. and Mahomet Lion Fred Griffe.

  14. Ed Mason provided musical entertainment.

  15. Lions Report – No report today. If you are ill or know a fellow Lion who is under the weather, please call Pat Bryan at 586-4535.

  16. Lottery –The lottery was $15. Pauline Kunkel won today.

  17. Announcements and Reports – President Gonsiorowski reminded us that the international focus is literacy. Next week the meeting, 12-19, will be at the Regent.

  18. Basketball raffle tickets money must be turned in to Charlie Osborne by then and the drawing will be held.

  19. Sam McGrew reported that we collected $201 for Socks for Kids. His wife, Sara, talked to the manager at Target and got a 10% discount,

  20. plus another 5% off on their card so they bought about $280 worth of socks. and will continue collecting next week.

  21. Today we collected for the Salvation Army. The Club will match the donations up to $300. David Lin has arranged with the Wesley Food Bank that we will help them on Monday, 12-17-12 with food repackaging. He sent an email to members asking all who can to help.

  22. Marvin Paulsen announced there will be a Zone meeting December 13 at 6 pm at Monical’s Pizza on Kirby. If you want to attend please let him know.

  23. Ted Gonsiorowski announced that $210 has been donated to the Jim Smith memorial fund to date. See Ted if you would like to contribute.

  24. The rest of the meeting we sang carols. (This is a recording of us. We’s really good!)
