User Fees, Fuel prices Image, representation gov, safety, access. NBAA can do more, these groups should be a formal part of NBAA Costs of Operation; Positive PR for our Industry; Economy Cost of Government Regulations to our operations; Security compliance (existing & forthcoming) Access (curfews, noise and weight limits); Users Fees; Controlling Operating Costs; Regulatory Compliance; understanding the issues; - Managing the optics of corporate aviation. Govt regulation; Safety; operations–efficiency; Mountain operations; Mountain capacity programs/limitations Local airport issues is our number one priority. Followed by concerns of the rest of the NBAA community. Government Regulation, Airport Facilities, Public Relations for GA, Aviation Education and Training. Safety; FAA funding; Training; Strategic planning What are the top five issues in our industry today that are most important to your group?
Promoting Business Aviation; Creating a compelling future for Business Aviation; Promoting a sense of community Promoting Emergency contingency planning; Promoting Aviation Security TSA security initiatives; ETS compliance; CBP initiatives; PBN technology; airport access issues. Education; safety; scholarships; network; general aviation Anti-Business attitude of the Federal Government; Caps and Trade; Loss of Pilot-in-Command control in Air Traffic Control Decisions; TSA interest in controlling General Aviation Security. What are the top five issues in our industry today that are most important to your group?
Positive - depends on what the meeting is about. No charge and always sponsored; Negative - need more flight department involvement from upper levels. Safety Standdown, Networking Opportunities We have tried to be aggressive in having more activities so that our membership finds a value in their membership. So far we have had a positive feedback on our activities and found a boost of new membership due to these activities. Keeping the word out there that we exist. In the past is have been by word of mouth and emails. I am very interested in a website for PRSDA as it will greatly help us communicate with everyone, not just those involved with PRSDA. We have started to re-charge the group in our region by re-defining our purpose and goals. We have tried to create membership value (training, education, communication, advocacy) but growth is incremental. We have tried to gain legitimacy as voice of GA at HPN through safety, security and community outreach What specific actions taken by your group have affected its growth both positively and negatively?
Continue growth curve by keeping our membership abreast of regional/national events impacting business aviation. We do this by quarterly luncheons (with impactful program/speakers), emailings of Board publications/letters and attempting to keep our web-site updated. Great Presenters; fast action at the meeting; No Q&A slows down meeting - attendees lose interest Positive- news and press about our group – meetings; Focus on all aspects of aviation not just pilot operations. Negatively - lack of time (volunteer) by board to operate effectively. Positive - becoming politically active has helped members with access, ground lease costs, and airport planning (ensuring space for corporate hangars at BFI). Negative - being perceived as a BFI only club with little relevance outside Seattle Limited guest speaker availability Positively: support by the MKC airport manager and fundraising events. Negatively: Good people losing their jobs and moving away from Kansas City that were leaders in the organization What specific actions taken by your group have affected its growth both positively and negatively?
Local and State Wide Meetings, Texas Aviation Summit, Gulf Coast Wings, local speaking engagements. Development of 4 year aviation academic program in an area university; Actively encouraging smaller GA airports to join our team. Greater communication with airport management and fellow airport tenants. Frequent community events which boost our sense of community. Aircraft operators and Fire Department/Crash Crew equipment familiarization. We hold many discussions/presentations throughout the year to create awareness, strengthen relationships with government and local agencies and individuals, craft solutions and recommendations. We do a monthly happy hour, monthly dinner/network with a speaker, and a monthly activity like going to FlightSafety. Requesting Airport Operations, Local Air Traffic Control Operations, Local TSA Officials as well as Vendors to provide information on current issues to be covered at each meeting. What specific actions taken by your group have affected its growth both positively and negatively?
