  5. Scripture is the sole source of doctrine and practice • True believers always submit their minds to Biblical teaching (doctrine), because even many teachings are beyond the understanding of our human mind, all scripture being inspired comes from God.

  6. Scripture is the sole source of doctrine and practice • Scripture must be the sole source of doctrine and practice because God’s written Word is in a class by itself.

  7. Scripture is the sole source of doctrine and practice • “All Scripture is God-breathed inspired” (2Ti 3:16) • “ … men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2Pe 1:21). • God is the • author • of all • of Scripture.

  8. Scripture is the sole source of Doctrine • All Scripture is to be used “for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2Ti 3:16). What is the problem? Why is it that people are afraid of doctrine and say it is man’s words not Gods?

  9. The answer! It is simple! God’s Word convicts people of sin. God wrote the rules, and Man wants to be God. Conclusion: Any way to dodge responsibility including denying the bible as God’s Word is sinful man’s goal.

  10. But you can not dodge the bullet Sin Kills

  11. God has a solution God has left a trail for us to follow. Doctrine is the foot prints on the trail to heaven. With out it we would not know the way.

  12. The Trail • Begins in Genesis and winds through the Bible. Some people see the road just to drive on and miss what is really important like this couple.

  13. How important is doctrine? You need doctrine to stay on the road. • The difference between True and False Doctrine is a matter of life or death. We are at war and there are casualities Teaching or allowing false doctrine is deadly…it is a matter of life and death…

  14. Our Warfare is not with flesh and blood. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph. 6:12

  15. The Battle God has entrusted to us. • He won the battle…on the cross. He has given us the tools to wage war. Word and Sacrament He has revealed the truth to us…to be used to change minds. After all the word “repentance” { metavnoia, means…

  16. We have sanitized the crossnot to be offensive. • It is not important who killed Christ, • We all killed Christ…sin – our sin killed Christ.

  17. Change Mind-Change how you think. How do we do that? God does this through His Word. And God uses us to teach, proclaim, and evangelize with the Word!
