Example 3.8 Paragraph (TS)This poster helps to define me as an individual because it represents the perspective with which I try to view and live life. (SS1) First, I chose the Chris McCandless quote, “The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”(EX1)I chose this quote not only for the literal meaning, but also because I think it is important to look for ways to continuously challenge oneself throughout one’s entire life. (SS2) Secondly, I chose the picture of the beautiful sunset because it is representative of the literal interpretation of the quote. (EX2) The picture is an example of one of the endless changing horizons one can see if one follows the advice of the quote and finds new adventures each day. (SS3) Finally, I chose the title “Embracing Challenges” because it represents the process of following the advice of the quote. (EX3) If one is constantly looking for new challenges and looking for the beauty in one’s world, then one will have to embrace the change and learn to grow from the challenges. (CS) As a new teacher to ECS, I believe that this will be a year where I will actively embrace challenges, learn from my colleagues and students, and grow as a teacher in my new position.
