  13. Community Sport Networks • District level organisation • Recognised nationally, regionally and at county level as key links in the system • Not a new idea – proven best practice • Evolving all over the country as well as in Nottinghamshire • There is not a prescribed structure for CSN:

  14. Roles of a Community Sports Network Role • Think strategically and act locally • Delivery role • Funding role • Equity role • Capacity building role • Promotional role • Coordination role

Aims • Avoid Duplication (Use existing groups) • Bringing together all the key statutory and voluntary sector organisations in a local authority area who are responsible for promoting, delivering, and funding sport and physical activity • Identify local needs and potential interventions. • Develop a shared vision and create an action plan that feeds into CSP • Secure resources from a broad range of partners to deliver identified interventions within action plan.

  16. Aims • Build capacity to increase participation and widen access to opportunities with emphasis on people rather than places: • To be an action orientated hub – not a ‘talking shop’. • To act as a delivery mechanism for various themes within the LSP .

Sport Performance Indicators • Increase by 1%, year or year, the number of over 16s who engage in at least 30 minutes moderate intensity level sport or active recreation at least 3 times a week • Increase the number of over 16s who volunteer in sport and active recreation for at least one hour a week – target year or year 10% increase on published Active People figure for the district
