  2. Agenda: • Housekeeping (7:00-7:10) • PTE #6! (7:10-7:30) • Problem Solving: Why do some students not achieve? (7:30-8:25) • BREAK (8:15-8:25) • School Achievement Research (8:25-9:15) • Work on Posterproject and PTE

Objectives: • Deepen knowledge of achievement data for schooling. • Recognize stereotypes that pervade American society, and the impact they have on students’ concepts of self and self-esteem. • Problem Solve: Why do students have different achievement scores? (Speaking/Listening/Reading/Writing) • Research achievement data for a specific school and consider what that data tells you about what students need. (Reading, Writing, Analysis) Content Language

  4. Ideas for Culture in a Theater Class: • Bollywood • Griot • Kabuki • Noh • Puppetry (around the world, variety) • Shadow plays • Global Playbook • Journals • Creating in the style of… Griot: Performing Stories Performance Art Types and Ideas

  6. “Small Group Problem Solving” • Step 1: Form groups of 3 or 4. • Step 2: In your group, come up with one “problem” you noticed in the readings. • Step 3: As a group, discuss the problem, research what might be a cause and what the problem might mean for you as a teacher. • Step 4: Prepare to present your “problem” and your findings with the class.
