Schedule • Monday, December 16th • BizTowntraining session (2.5 hours) • Attend the classroom based training session (2.5 hours) • Tuesday, December 17th • Volunteer at JA BizTown (5 hours) • Wednesday, December 18th • “JA in a Day” Enter a classroom and teach 5 hours lessons to students in Kindergarten- 5th Grade • (6 hours) • Thursday, December 19th • Volunteer at JA Finance Park (6 hours) • Friday, December 20th • Students will help assemble training kits and make calls to “Thank” volunteers for their service  • (5 hours) • **Specific activities may vary depending on the specific needs of the organization at time of arrival.**

Volunteer Events • JA BizTown • workshop is geared toward 4th thru 6thgraders • combines in-class learning with the real world • Students operate a bank, restaurant, city hall, newspaper, retail store and 10 other businesses • JA Finance Park • workshop is geared toward 7th thru 12th graders. • introduces personal finance and career exploration to all the students • create budgets, allocate utility expenses and make personal investments • JA in a Day • Spend 1 day in an elementary school • Teach 5 JA lessons

  4. Trip Details • Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin • 95 miles. About 1 hour & 45 minutes away. • Leaving from UIC: Dec 15th • Returning to UIC: Dec 21st • Housing will be at West Granville Presbyterian Church • Showering at the YMCA Parklawn • We will be taking a trip to a local grocery store to get food for the week. A kitchen will be provide at the Church.

  5. What to Bring • Sleeping bags and pillows to sleep at the Church • Nice, dressy clothes • A SMILE! 
