  3. PRIMARY, SECONDARY OR TERTIARY RESOURCES Here are some definitions and examples to help you identify the various categories: Primary – original and new research. e. g. Newspaper articles, original scholarly works and transcripts, statistics Secondary – Interprets, analyzes and evaluates primary sources. e.g. Books, Commentaries, Bibliographies, Popular Magazine articles, Biographical Works Tertiary – Indexes that compile and organize information from primary and secondary sources in a specific subject area. e.g. Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Directories

Identity of the author - A professional from a reputable institution - Author’s name cited in other scholarly works 5. Does the resource have a bibliography

Convert a citation to APA in databases such as Proquest or Academic Search Premier 3. RefWorks:an online bibliographic web-based manager that will create your bibliographies for you.
