BEV, AustriaFrom June 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • see report May 2013, Vienna meeting • Any other news that would be of interest for Q-KEN? • Project “Vhw-HIST” has been started - Digitization of all plan-documents stored in the surveying offices to facilitate temporary support between the surveying offices of the BEV and to improve the service for our customers by making these documents available via BEV-portal(This project is one of the measures to meet our objectives according to the 2013 newly implemented principle of outcome orientation.)

Geodatastyrelsen- Denmark From May 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • We have developed a generic model for the work on data quality • The model are incompliance with ISO 9001 • We have initiated a project wit the aim of describing our processes and thereby also describing our data quality
Ordnance Survey Great BritainFrom May 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • Investigations have begun into carrying out a large reconciliation exercise with regards to Names on various scales of mappings. A variety of techniques are being used to try and automate the discovery of as many errors as possible. • We will also look at ways that we can possibly fix these automatically. • Particular areas of concern are Gaelic Names. • The conflict resolution tool that we have been developing is nearing maturity with development expected to complete at the end of December 2013.
Ordnance Survey Great BritainFrom May 2013 to October 2013 • Any other news that would be of interest for Q-KEN? • Ordnance Survey is currently in the process of developing and releasing a number of new products including a rail network, a water network, functional sites and a new gazetteer.
NATIONAL CADASTRE AND MAPPING AGENCY S.A. (NCMA S.A. (former “KTIMATOLOGIO S.A.”)) From June 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • Quality Control for Completeness, logical consistency and thematic accuracy of spatial data and legal status of property rights (according to registered deeds, court decisions, ministerial decisions) has been completed for all delivered data, • Absolute accuracy of spatial data has been completed for 4 contracts (1690 gcp’s), • Acceptance sampling inspection using procedure A of ISO 2859-2 (sampling item = ownership). Has been completed for 12 municipalities (800 ownerships), • Review and complete the cadastral survey specifications for use in new projects (NCMA S.A. has announced a tender for cadastral survey of the rest of the country. Mostly agricultural and mountainous areas ~95.000 km2 and ~16 million rights), • Review of Quality Plan based on new technical specifications (under development), • Revision of existing checklists (Quality Control Records) and internal software applications (under development).

(former “KTIMATOLOGIO S.A.”)) From June 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Quality Management • Re-engineering of the QMS of the Agency according the ISO 9001:2008 Standard: Re-engineering of the QMS architecture, development and updating of all operational proceduresand incorporation into a QMS Information System Environment). • Preparation for ISO 20000 Certification of the National Cadastre Information System (SPEK) of the Agency, which is expected to be carried out at the beginning of 2014.

Procurement of the ISO standards are in progress. • Any other news that would be of interest for Q-KEN? • Creation of INSPIRE compliant datasets for Administrative Unit, Cadastral data and Geographical Names is in progress. National Land Survey of Iceland, IcelandFrom January 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • The ERM and EBM projects now have a common coastline with all subsequent ERM layers adjusted to it; • The new ERM/EBM coastline has been quality checked and fixed for double geometry errors and vertex density errors of 5 meters; • The ERM and EBM projects now have identical Administrative Boundary template, which is INSPIRE compliant; • The National Database was checked for double geometry errors in point, line and polygon layers; • The National Database was checked for vertex density errors with a tolerance of 1 meter;

The decision needs to be made how the Hydro Network will be provided (create new or modify the existing one) as currently the National Hydro Data does not have the Network.

ICC, Catalunya - Spain From May 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • ICC Topographic Data Bases • New GIS environment for the production of the 25K Topo DB based on Geomedia (ID’s, lifecycle, customized tools for 3D production). • Goal to extend this environment to production of the 5K Topo DB. • Revision of the process to generate data quality metadata – action still in process - ESDIN Quality Model will be taken into account. • ICC 2,5 K Orthophoto series • Exploiting the recently-updated GIS environment for the production of conventional Orthophoto series. • Time-to-market shortened: from 1,5 year to 9 months to produce 25 cm pixel orthophoto for whole Catalonia. • Researching how to improve radiometric quality OF orthophoto series.
ICC, Catalunya - Spain From May 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning quality management • Extending the ISO 9001 certificate to the production of conventional orthophoto series at any scale: • Working in the generalization process. • Goal expected for January 2014. • Finishing the first evaluation of customer’s satisfaction making use of direct interviews (new methodology, replacing surveys) • Corporative web workspace to present ISO 9001 QMS information using Confluence software - First results achieved: • Main ISO 9001 and Orthophoto department documentation published (manuals, workflows, indicators, issue tracking). • Goal: Extend the system to other departments & improve reports by generating on-the-fly graphics from available indicators.

Lantmäteriet, SwedenFrom May 2013 to October 2013 • News concerning Data Quality • Lantmäteriet is going on with the project to examine how consistent our data are in accordance to our specifications. For the six themes: Cadastral parcels, Land use, Hydrography, Buildings, Elevation and Roads it is now decided what to evaluate for two types for each of them. • Our old internal viewing system, AtoKaVy will be replaced with a new GeoVy from January -14. The new system will display the quality of boundary lines and points, topology errors (border between municipalities) and more. • The work with increasing the quality of cadastral information (completeness, positional accuracy) is still on going.

A summary is now available in English. • The Government has assigned Lantmäteriet to analyse the requirements for having our geographic data in 3D
