Biodiesel Capability • Biodiesel use up to B20 approved on 1104D Mechanical & Electronic models • Timing: • 1104D Mechanical – from model introduction starting May 07 • 1104D Electronic – Q4 2007 (precise cut-in to be confirmed) • Models: • All 1104D Mechanical & 1104D Electronic models • Fuel quality: • Biodiesel must comply with ATSM D6751 (USA) & EN14214 (Europe) standards
Servicing and Fuels • Single side servicing option available(left or right sides) • 500 hour servicing standard • With suitable additives, all Perkins engines are capable of running on alternative fuels • JP7, JP8, AVTUR, JET A • All warranties remain valid on biodiesel concentrations of up to 20% • Existing service interval & warranty terms remain valid on 1104D Mechanical & Electronic models using approved biodiesel up to 20% mix
Warranty • Industrial warranty terms • Full engine: 24 months / 3000 hours whichever expires first • Major components: 36 months • Low usage ie 500 hours or less per annum: 36 months / 1,500 hours whichever is first to occur • Alternators and starter motors: 12 months
What Does the Programme Offer? Two types of Coverage: Gold – 90% of components covered Platinum – 100% of components covered Ensures continued performance from the engine by using genuine parts and service Repairs supported and performed globally by authorised OEM / Perkins network Highly cost effective solution for repairing engines – 1 claim could cover costs What is an ESC? Can be purchased with a new engine, or for engines still covered by standard warranty It covers the costs of: Replacement parts Repair time labour Repairer travel time and some other sundry costs Perkins promises to pay for specified repairs of product failure, due to defects in materials or faulty workmanship, during the terms of the contract Can be purchased right up to last day of standard warranty Extended Service Contracts (ESC’s)
