In Britain people used to have a traditional English breakfast, which consists of sausages, bacon, omelet, tomatoes and mushrooms. Today people have changed their habits and have cereal with milk and sugar or toasts with marmalade or jam for breakfast. The British are used to drink tea for breakfast, but some people prefer coffee.
British breakfast • The traditional English breakfast consists of eggs, bacon, sausages, fried bread, baked beans and mushrooms. • Even though not many people eat it for breakfast today, it is always served in hotels and guest houses around Britain. • The traditional English breakfast is called the 'Full English' and sometimes 'The Full English Fry-up'
Lunch People usually have a quick meal for lunch. In big towns there are many sandwich bars. Children at schools are given a hot meal during a day, but most of them have a sandwich, a drink or some fruit.
"Tea" has double meaning in Britain . It means a hot drink and a kind of meals, which people are used to have in the afternoon. They usually drink tea and have a sandwich or a cake. Sweet buns are also very popular.
Dinner is the main meal for many British people. They usually have an early dinner between 6.00 and 8.00 o'clock. • At weekends a lot of families are used to have a traditional lunch. They eat roast meat (beef, lamb, chicken or pork) with potatoes, vegetables and gravy.
A traditional Christmas dinner includes roast turkey, brussels sprouts, roast potatoes, cranberry sauce, tiny sausages wrapped in bacon and lashings of hot gravy. • Fordessert there's always a rich, fruity pudding which you douse in flaming brandy – said to ward off evil spirits.
Russia is a nation of hospitable people. Russian people are full of optimism and kindness.
