  8. DANGER! • Think about dangers to ourselves or our classmates that we may come across on our trip? Look back at your pictures or lists of what you thought we might see there. Example: • Lost in the bush • Heat stroke

  9. Make it Safe • For each danger that you came up with, think of a way to make it safe. • Consider people, equipment and the environment. • On the bus, ferry and on Rotoroa Island. Example: • Stay with my group. • Carry plenty of water and wear a hat.

  10. Impact on the environment! • Now think about the safety of the Island we are visiting. What impact/effect will we have on the environment. • Look back at your picture/list to help you. • Example: • Trampling the plants • Disturbing the wildlife

  11. Solutions – How can I keep the environment safe? • For each impact/effect that you came up with, think of a way to make it safe. Example: • Walk quietly and carefully • Keep to the paths/ tracks and pay attention to where I am stepping
