    2. Narratives (recounts with a twist) Purpose to entertain, teach or inform. Some examples are: Myths and legends Fairytales Historic stories Science Fiction Romance Crime Soap Operas Introduction Increase knowledge of ESL Scope and Scales through investigating narratives at different levels. Recounts with a twist The complication is what makes a narrative different from a recount. We see these in examples such as (CLICK)…..Myths and Legends – Soap Operas Aim: to develop a unit of work on narratives. Model and deconstruct a narrative through, “Theseus and the Minotaur”. Use exercises from English Plus to begin this process.Introduction Increase knowledge of ESL Scope and Scales through investigating narratives at different levels.
