Local Funding Formula The Schools Forum agreed that the principles of a new formula should be: • Be fair • Be simple • Be transparent • Provide stability • Avoid turbulence • Use data that is accurate, available, easy to update, relevant and timely • Provide funding that follows pupil need (e.g. AEN, SEN) The intended outcome of the review was: • To ensure similar schools receive similar funding • To remove anomalies so enabling heads greater flexibility in apportioning funding in their schools. • More predictable budget planning. • A formula understood (cause and impact)
