How Funds Are Raised and Administered In administering gifts, Lincoln Memorial University acts in a fiduciary (trustee) capacity. Lincoln Memorial University adheres to the “Statement of Ethics” set forth by CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) and upholds its “Donor’s Bill of Rights.” Gift accounting follows CASE/NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers) “Management Reporting Standards for Educational Institutions.” Restricted gifts are gifts with a specified purpose clearly stated by the donor. When a gift is not accompanied by specific purposes, it is used to fulfill the greatest needs of the University.
