  1. English III Unit 3 Day 9- Vocab 8 Charades, OMM, mini-projects

  2. Leader: Good afternoon, Pumas.  Please compose yourselves for prayer by taking a comfortable position in your chairs.  Leader: Ad Majorem  . . . All: Dei Gloriam.  Leader: We study, work and play . . . All: for the greater glory of God. 2-minute reflection Leader: We close by saying, “Glory to the Father, and to Jesus the Son, and to the Holy Spirit . . . All: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen! ”

  3. Two days of class left! Do-now: Have vocab out. Check your vocab: • entranced- filled with wonder and delight; captivated • disarming- charming (removing suspicion or hostility) • sullen- bad-tempered and sulky; gloomy • impetuous- acting without thought or care • appraise- assess the value of; evaluate • writhe- make continual twisting, squirming movements of the body. • reciprocity- exchanging things for mutual benefit (if you give me something, I’ll give you something) • retort- respond to a remark in an angry way. • incredulous- unwilling or unable to believe something • conscientious- wishing to do what’s right

  8. Of Mice and Men… • After Curley’s wife is horrible to Crooks, Crooks tells the guys to forget about him joining them on the ranch. He says he doesn’t want to anymore. Why? • Open books to p. 80 (in the small books, p. 84)

  9. Mini-projects • Use this time to work on your CDs or comics. • Remember for the CDs, you need sentences of explanation AND three colored pictures. • For the comics, remember you need an 8-15 sentence explanation as to why the scenes you chose are the most important. • Due tomorrow at 4 PM

  10. HW: • Study for vocab quiz • Work on your mini-project if you think necessary
