Essential Question What do you know about Early Native Americans?
Objectives • Students will be able to list 3 Native American Tribes, and identify where they were located • Students will be able to describe the type of shelter and the tools used by the 3 Native American Tribes they chose • Students will be able to identify and describe an early famous Native American belonging to each of the tribes. • Students will be able to recognize which is their Native American Zodiac sign according to their birthday.
Unit Summary During this unit of instruction students will learn about 3 Native American tribes, the example given to them will be of the Apaches, Comanche’s, and Wampanoag. They will learn about the type of shelter and tools they used. They will learn about an early famous Native American belonging to each of the tribes. They will also learn about the Native American Zodiac. The students will be creating a KWL chart, a brochure, and a Power Point presentation. The students will be doing activities such as puzzles, scavenger hunts, and crossword puzzles.
Unit Assessment • During this unit the students will be assessed on how well they do on their activities. • Their overall comprehension will be from the Power Point presentation.
What I learned? • I have learned a new way of teaching besides the regular paper and pencil method. To be able to make learning fun by taking advantage of the technology we have today. To give students control in creating and designing.
