  11. Democracy... is a charming form of government, full of variety and disorder; and dispensing a sort of equality to equals and unequals alike. Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty.

  15. He who is unable to live in society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god.

  16. A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

  17. The best type of ruler would beeducated.

  20. A man's conscience and his judgement is the same thing; and as the judgement, so also the conscience, may be erroneous.

  21. A constant state of war needs a firm hand so an absolutewould be the only form of government

  22. LOCKE

  23. I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.

  24. All mankind... being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty or possessions.

  25. A government’s main job is to protect our property.

  26. ROUSSEAU

  27. People who know little are usually great talkers, while men who know much say little.

  28. It is unnatural for a majority to rule, for a majority can seldom be organized and united for specific action, and a minority can.

  29. People can choose to band together and agree to give up some rights for the sake of the need to be governed. This is called making a ‘…………….’

  30. MONTESQUIEU

  31. Author: A fool, who, not content with having bored those who have lived with him, insists on tormenting the generations to come.

  32. The tyranny of a prince in an oligarchy is not so dangerous to the public welfare as the apathy of a citizen in a democracy.

  33. There is no nation so powerful, as the one that obeys its laws not from principals of fear or reason, but from passion.

  34. The sublimity of administration consists in knowing the proper degree of power that should be exerted on different occasions.

  35. Power should never be in the hands of one person but shared between ………………

  36. Karl Marx

  37. The worker becomes all the poorer the more wealth he produces, the more his production increases in power and range. The worker becomes an ever cheaper commodity the more commodities he creates. With the increasing value of the world of things proceeds in direct proportion to the devaluation of the world of men. Labour produces not only commodities; it produces itself and the worker as a commodity -- and does so in the proportion in which it produces commodities generally.
