  1. Preparing the Territory:1. Focus on church planting at: -pastor’s meetings -executive committee meetings -communication dept. publications and videos -Union magazine

  2. Preparing the Territory:2. Fill pastoral openings with pastors who desire to grow God’s kingdom through planting.

  3. Preparing the Territory:3. Hire pastors to plant churches in strategic areas of the conference (after 8 years, Texas now has 12 full-time church planters).

  4. Preparing the Territory:4. Identify and empower church planting coordinators for all areas of the conference (example: DFW, Houston, San Antonio, etc.).Note: This is a voluntary role taken on by full-time pastors.

  5. Preparing the Territory:5. Deeply invest in the development of church planting experts. -Seminar presenters for conference events. -Every invitation outside conference… take 1-2 with me to help train. (Seed’s: team of 6+ every year)

  6. Resourcing Church Plants & Planters:1. All church plants are required to have a mother/sponsor church.

  7. Resourcing Church Plants & Planters:2. All church planters are provided with a coach.Note: Coach for lay plants is full-time pastor, coach for full-time planters is Tom Evans (church planting coordinator).

  8. Resourcing Church Plants & Planters:3. A church plant’s first evangelistic meeting is 100% covered by conference !

  9. Resourcing Church Plants & Planters:4. The first NCD survey taken by the church plant is paid for by the conference.

  11. METRO IMPACT RALLY:Annual mega-rally of all church plants in the Texas Conference.November 5-7, 2010San Antonio

  12. METRO IMPACT RALLY:Friday- Meeting with team of church planting coordinators (open to other conferences).

  13. METRO IMPACT RALLY:Friday evening- 4 minute testimonies from 20-30 church plant groups.

  14. METRO IMPACT RALLY:Sabbath- Full day of training, music and inspiration. (English and Spanish locations). Book signing, ABC and sport tournament on Sat. night.

  15. METRO IMPACT RALLY:Sunday- Lay Planter/Coaches Appreciation Banquet.Over 100 active church planters attend…Highlight of the year!(hotel provided the night before)
