Ease of communication or ‘rapport’ It can be built or improved by: • Using correctly the name of the participant • Using short sentences • Finding something in common • Humor: finding something to smile about • Empathy: putting yourself in the participant’s shoes • Using ‘mirror techniques’ (non verbal- communication)
‘Mirror techniques’ They consist in taking on certain behaviors of the receiver: • Reflecting the body posture • Reflecting the movements • Adjusting the physical level • Holding eye contact • Following the volume, rhythm and tone SHOWING AUTHENTIC INTEREST
