  2. 1 Areas of Responsibility Manifesto Pledges • Be the overall chief representative and spokesperson of USSA.  • Via the Chief Executive, ensure the smooth running of the Association. • Be responsible for overall financial and political management of the Association. • Coordinate the work of the Executive. • Work to ensure that no current students are affected by the Closure of Jordanhill or the James Weir fire 2 3 • Continue increasing wider opportunities and widening access for all students, current and prospective regardless of background 4 • I am the Chair of: • External Engagement Forum • Trustee Board • Financial Oversight Committee • Executive Committee • Increase the profile of USSA by working appropriately with relevant partners • Lead USSA successfully throughout the next academic year • I sit on the following University committees: • Court • Court Business Group • Senate • Education Strategy Committee • Estates Committee • Equality & Diversity Committee • Information Strategy Committee

  3. 1 What I have done so far: • StrathGuides – The Widening Access Project has been launched and will engage with local schools shortly. Here is a news article about it. http://www.journal-online.co.uk/article/9728-ussas-strathguides-leads-the-way-in-widening-access • Glasgow Student Forum – The SABBs from institutions in Glasgow meet to discuss issues that effect Glasgow Students as a whole. For example, we have a letter being sent to SAAS regarding its recent backlog and how it has effected students. • Commercial Services – I have been reviewing a number of things within the commercial services that have come to light this semester and from the last question time. Such as a new menu for the scene. • University Committees – I have attended a number of University committees since the last Question Time including Senate and Court. 2 3 4

  4. 1 What I am still working on: 2 • StrathGuides – This will be an on-going project for the rest of the year and I will keep everyone updated on our progress. • Glasgow Student Forum – We meet regularly to discuss long term aims + progress as well as current issues. • Commercial Services – As it is part of my remit, I am constantly in contact with our commercial services staff and listening to what students want changed to ensure that the Association is “by students, for students” • Timetabling Questionnaire! This will be circulated around to all students to get as much information as possible together to lobby the University. 3 4
