General information • Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom in the north-east of the island of Ireland. • Northern Ireland is largely self-governing and co-operates with the rest of Ireland. • It consists of six historic counties: County Antrim, County Armagh, County Down, County Fermanagh, County Londonderry, County Tyrone.

  3. The nature • Northern Ireland is a country of outstanding natural beauty. • The centrepiece of Northern Ireland's geography is Lough Neagh.

  4. Famous places to see in Northern Ireland • Cave Hill Country Park is a large park which sprawls over part of the Belfast Hills providing spectacular panoramic views of Belfast city and beyond.

  5. Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge • Carrick Bridge (Carrick-a-rede rope bridge is the full name) is a popular tourist attraction on the Antrim Coast. • The bridge was initially built by fishermen to check their nets.

  6. The Giants causeway • The Giants Causeway is Northern Ireland's premier tourist attraction and fascinating geological wonder.

  7. Glenarm Castle and The Walled Garden • GlenarmCastle is the home of Viscount and ViscountessDunluce and their family. • The Walled Garden is one of Ireland’s oldest walled gardens.

  8. Famous people • Sir James Galway is a virtuoso flute player from Belfast,nicknamed "The Man With the Golden Flute".

  9. Arthur Armstrong • Was a painter from County Antrim, who often worked in a Cubist style and produced landscape and still-life works. He also travelled and painted in the West of Ireland.
