On May 21st from midnight to midnight, you have 24 hours to support the causes you care about by making a donation of $10 or more to nonprofits that serve Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties. We’re currently raising matching funds and prize money to amplify charitable donations made through Omaha Gives! Shannon has confirmed to have an event at Sam & Louie’s (155th & Dodge) to host an event in conjunction with OmahaGives! day, more details soon. CRITICAL DISCUSSON: Other fundraising ideas

  13. We previously had health insurance via Nonprofit Association of the Midlands Trust through Harry A Koch Company. By October 2013, we were down to only one employee enrolled, thereby not having the required two, we were dropped. The employee currently buys insurance out-of-pocket. • To compensate, we can offer “health stipends”, that while tax deductible, would have some insurance benefit in attracting and retaining key employees. • One scenario is to offer current full-time exempt employees a monthly stipend (i.e. $200/month) and revisit this in the fall when we may be eligible to re-enroll in a comprehensive plan. CRITICAL DISCUSSON: Health Insurance (action can be taken today)

  14. Proposal suggestion: • Offer $200 monthly health stipend to full-time exempt employees (currently CEO, COO, and P&L Coordinator) starting March 1 2014. <This amount is within current budget.> • Reimburse the one enrolled employee (CEO) who lost coverage with same monthly health stipend amount from November 2013 to February 2014 (4 months x $200). <This amount is within current budget.> • Revisit health insurance possibilities in Fall 2014 to look into re-enrolling in a comprehensive plan and possible tax benefits. CRITICAL DISCUSSON: Health Insurance continued
