TLU Today • TLU is the third largest university in Estonia. • It consists of 18 institutes and 4 colleges. • It has more than 8500 students. • It has more than 400 faculty members and research fellows. • It is the fastest growing university in Estonia.

TLU History • In 1919, a Teachers’ Seminar was established in Tallinnunder the guidance of leading specialists in educational sciences. • In 1952, the seminar was turned into a higher educational establishment. • In 1992, it obtained the status of a public university.
TLU History • In 1993, the faculty of social sciences was established, with departments of sociology, government, psychology etc. • In 1998, a program of computer science was opened. • In 2002, the interpreter and translator training centre was established. • The present TLU dates from 15 May 2002.
TLU Language Centre • TULC offers language courses for twelve foreign languages: • English, German, Greek, • Russian, Swedish, Dutch, • Latvian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, • Italian, French, Spanish.
TLU Language Centre • Our centre conducts the following international language exams: • IELTS • CAMBRIDGE ESOL • DELE (Spanish) • PLIDA (Italian) and DITALS (Italian for teachers)
TLU Language Centre • TULC is a member of • ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) • EALTA (European Association for Language Testing and Assessment).
TLU Language Centre • TULC has 28 teachers of foreign languages. • 14 of the 28 teachers work full- time. • 14 are part-time teachers. • 13 of them are native speakers of foreign languages.
