America in iraq Bush: Bush’s three main reasons for going to war in Iraq: Eliminate Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction To diminish threat of international terrorism. To promote democracy in Iraq and the areas surrounding Iraq. Bush’s primary concern was the weapons of mass destruction and the usage of those weapons against the United States. Obama: Obama promises to take the troops out of Iraq within the next months. Now as president he is going to make sure the firefighters, paramedics, and police men have the proper utilities to do their jobs and to keep Americans safe, since after 9/11 not many felt safe. Barack Obama and Joe Biden have a plan for nuclear security that will reduce the danger of nuclear terrorism and prevent the spread of nuclear weapons across seas.

This is why we are here: to make our country safer and make sure the nearly 3,000 who were taken from us did not die in vain. Their legacy will be a safer and more secure nation.” [Obama Speech On U.S. Senate Floor, 3/6/07] http://cedarlounge.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/obama-gives-iraq-speech-1.jpg
Costs: The war in Iraq has cost much more then told about. Every day the war price increases by about $200 million. In 2002 the ‘upper bound’ cost of the war was expected to be between $100 billion and $200 total, as said by the White House economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey. The initial price Lindsey said had dropped jaws but he quoted, "The successful prosecution of the war would be good for the economy.” Casualties: http://icasualties.org/oef/ http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_casualties.htm
