  3. Non-Fiction Collection Improvement • Common Core Standards place a strong new emphasis on “informational texts” • 8th grade texts should be: • 45% literary • 55% informational • 12th grade texts should be: • 30% literary • 70% informational (Common Core Standards Initiative, 2012)
