  3. What does it look like? What are the requirements? What are the programs? Where will the students go?

  4. LEVELS OF COURSES REGULAR – These courses are taught at grade level and follow the Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS) elements. PRE-AP – These courses are beyond honors level and require extra effort. Students should be capable of making A’s or high B’s in regular classes to be successful in Pre-AP. TAG– Students must qualify for the Gifted & Talented program to enroll in TAG courses. They must have documentation of previous participation in a program or qualify through testing. PRE-IB – Pre-International Baccalaureate courses are for students interested in continuing on in the HS IB program.

  14. Middle SchoolCareer & Technical Education (CTE) COURSES: * All 6th or 7th graders interested in learning about Career Pathways should begin their course selections with “Exploring Careers”* Level 1 Level 2 Level 3

High School (HS) NOTE: • Students who successfully complete a high school course in middle school with a 70 or better will receive credit towards high school graduation. • Each semester grade and credit earned will be recorded on the transcript and will be included in the student’s grade point average and class rank. • For students who fail TAKS or are at-risk of failing TAKS, will lose an elective(s) and participate in a mandatory academic recovery program, every effort should be made to avoid pulling the student from their CTE high school credit course; however, if this becomes necessary, the student will NOT earn the high school credit.
