  2. QRL Cold Tests • Sector 7-8, LSS8L: • [12 Sept 05 - 21 Oct 05] • As preparation for Cool-down of LSS8L (Jan06 to mid Feb06) • Sector 8-1: • From 15 Oct 05 to 2 Dec 05 • As preparation for Cool-down of 8-1(Jan06 to mid Feb06)

Controls Needs for QRL LSS8L cold tests • Pre-requisite: Refrigerator and QUI UNICOS systems running • QRL PLC layer: 1 Siemens (8L) with Profibus, 1 Quantum (Return Module included) • Communication Siemens-Quantum-PVSS • I/O and Field Objects for ‘Electrical Tests’ • Logic & Interlock for ‘Process’ • Synoptics & Trends • Logging client configured • No Alarms (Laser)

QRL LSS8L Controls Status: • P8 QUI: OK, still waiting interlock spec (actions in case of QRL failure) • PLCs: Both Siemens & Quantum Up and running, Profibus OK • Comm: validated (Siemens<->Schneider & PVSS) after upgrades of Siemens Ethernet board firmware • I/O & Field Objects: OK (DB of 19/08) • Thermometer Interpolation Tables: given by AB/CO on 26/08, to be loaded • Logic & Interlocks: Spec received 28/08, in work by AB/CO (to be ready 10/09) • PVSS: Data Server in control room, synoptics (1 high-level command panel pending) & trends ready • Logging: OK (all important I/O)

  5. QRL LSS8L Controls, Other Issues: • QRL Insulation Vacuum: Controlled by AT/VAC, only ‘VAC OK’ HW signal exchanged • No Spare Objects in Siemens(=> couple of days if missing objects need to be added) • Wait return of A.Tovar to load Interpolation tables • Not all I/O connections will be validated in time before cooldown (temperature sensors)

  6. Future Milestones • 7/09: coordination meeting planned before cooldown start on 12/09 • 8-1 Cooldown: 14 Nov: similar actions needed as previous slide • 2 Siemens PLCs (8R: waiting, 1L:OK) • LSS8L Cooldown (Jan06): will require an application upgrade, return module in specific PLC
