La ricerca bibliografica The Network • In Italy there are 48 EDCs, mostly situated in universities • Organisation of the network : • a national coordinator • a national vice coordinator • a coordination group (7 EDCs) • The italian EDCs organize an annual meeting with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Italy. La ricerca bibliografica ITALIAN NETWORKINITIATIVES Introduction In the last years we attended to the development of the propelling role of the EDCs at the academic and local level because they achieve a diffusion of the communitarian information and a research support about the European integration process. The EDC’s specific role made that their users are universities and research centres (students, professors, researchers) but this status not prevent that the centres propose initiatives open to the citizenship. In this context the Italian EDCs realized, with the support of EC Italian Representation, network’s projects and activities which are used to distinguish oneself in the Universities and attaint to general public allowing a co-operation with other networks and associations. La ricerca bibliografica Vademecum on the better way to run an EDC3/3 A guide that has been realised by working together: The various parts have been realised by 5 EDCs: EDC University of Genova, EDC IUSE Torino, EDC University of Sassari (member of the coordination group), EDC Scuola superiore della pubblica amministrazione (vice coordinator), EDC University of Verona (coordinator). The majority of italian EDCs have contributed by giving the cordinator information about the management of their own libraries and the activities of the previous years (publications, courses ecc.). La ricerca bibliografica Masters, courses and seminaries 2/2 • Courses on EC financing programmes • The majority of these courses are costless; only in some cases it is necessary to pay to allow the EDCs to cover the expenses (the EDCs do not receive any funding!) EDC of Trento - Collaboration on review “Europa”. From 1999, Trento EDC collaborates with autonomous Province of Trento on redaction of the review, Europa, in taking care of some sections. The review is published in paper and electronic format; • Ex. EDCIUSE Turin - Euroregione Bulletin. From 1978 this publication offers an update on few aspects of EU activities. The cooperation between documentalists should be enlarged to the professors who are responsible for the EDC.
