  3. TRAMIL - www.tramil.netTraditional Medicines of the Islands project • Started in 1982 • Program / Network of Applied Research for traditional popular Medicine in the Caribbean • It aims to rationalize health practices based on the use of medicinal plants

  4. MISSION • TO VALIDATE SCIENTIFICALLY THE TRADITIONAL USES OF MEDICINAL PLANTS FOR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE.

  5. VISION • TO BE THE REFERENCE INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM IN THE DETECTION, VALIDATION AND DIFFUSION OF THE USES OF MEDICINAL PLANTS THAT IMPACT IN PUBLIC HEALTH

  6. Method of TRAMIL • 33 territories in Caribbean [ English, French and Spanish] collaboration which is multidisciplinary. Our data collection process and synthesis discussion groups work with ethno botanists, phytochemists, pharmacologists, doctors and lay people.
