Career Research Project Product You will work independently to further investigate the career you chose last week.
Step 1 • Select a topic to research that is connected to your personal interests, and possibly a career choice as well. • Once you have selected a topic, pick 3-4 guiding questions for your research. Some examples are: • What is the historical context of my topic? • What are some important points in my topic’s history? • Who affected my topic’s history? • What purposes does my topic serve? • What would society/the world be like without my topic? • Why would other people consider my topic important? • What may be the future of my topic?
Step 2 • Create a timeline. Map out what you need to do each day to meet the project deadline. • The project is due next Friday, May 23rd. • You will have to turn in the following items: • Guiding Questions • A topic proposal • A research log • A final Project that shows what you’ve learned through your research
Step 3 • Complete the Topic Proposal Sheet • Fill out ALL parts of this, except the last part about the TEKS.
Step 4 • Research – • You need to keep a log on notebook paper of every site you intend to use for your research….you need at least 10. For each source, you need the following: • The site address • What you learned from it • What guiding question it helps answer • What information from the site that you could use on your final product project
Step 5 • Final Product – You should express, through the design and creation of an original product, what you have learned about your chosen topic of study. The complete project should include: • Quotations • Examples • Details about the topic • Your point of view on the topic • You may create anything for your project, as long as it shows what you have learned, and answers your guiding research questions. • Here is a link to some technology options that we use in ELA class, but that might be something you could use. http://www.symbaloo.com/mix/7thgradesummerreading • You may create something that isn’t digital also, but you must come up with your own supplies for it.
