Banked Tuesday PD Meetings • There are 14 scheduled Banked Tuesday meetings: • Tuesday PD Meeting 1:00-2:30 followed by Faculty PD Meetings from 2:30-3:30 • 14 Banked Days = 8 SLC and 6 PLC • 16 Faculty Meetings = 8 SLC+1, 6 PLC+1, and 8 General Faculty Meetings for a total of 24 5
Strand I:Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) Topics • ELA Common Core Instructional Shifts: • 1) Regular practice with complex texts and their academic language; • 2) Reading, writing, and speaking grounded in evidence from texts, both literary and informational; • 3) Building knowledge through content-rich nonfiction. • Math Common Core Instructional Shifts: • 1) Greater focus on depth; • 2) Coherence: Linking topics and thinking across grades; • 3) Rigor: Pursue conceptual understanding, procedural skills and fluency, and application with equal intensity. • SHEG Lessons • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) 7

Strand II:Linked Learning & Academies (SLC’s) Topics Interdisciplinary Planning: • Plan interdisciplinary student presentations of PBL and displaying of student work to showcase during parent conferences. What is PBL and Why PBL? • Teach students the essential elements of PBL come alive and bring to light the 21st Century competencies (collaboration, communication, critical thinking) that will enable all students to be college and work-ready as well as effective members of their communities. Advisory Planning: • Plan advisory curriculum to engage students. 10
Strand III:District Mandated PD • Mandatory District PD’s and Completion Dates: • EL and Standard English Master Plan 2018 Due September 28, 2018 • Implementing Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Due November 2, 2018 • Culturally & Linguistic Relevant Pedagogy Due March 19, 2019 • Supporting Foster Youth Success Due May 31, 2019 12
