  1. Jordan Services Modernisation Programme * European Community / H. Kingdom of Jordan Programme * Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation as Programme Implementers * First pilot programme focusing on the Services sector * Programme specific objectives: To upgrade the services companies and business associations (Business up-grading, Export development, Finance, Policy) To enhance the export capacity of Jordanian services providers * Total budget 16 million EUR (EC 15 + HKJ 1) including: 6 million grants for private sector 2 Million Loan guarantee fund for private sector * Programme duration: 4 years (3 years for contracting + 1 year implementation) EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

QUICK RESPONSE GRANT GRANT APPROACH BASED UPON COMPETITION * Objective: to assist Services sector business entities in facing the consequences of the world economic crisis * Beneficiaries: SMEs (5-250 employees) and Business Associations * Budget available: 250 000 EUR * Maximum grant: 10 000 EUR * Maximum contribution: 80% of the total eligible costs EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

Eligibility criteria for applicants COMPANIES 1/ Be a legal person and 2/ Be a service company established in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and 3/ Be registered at CCD (MIT) and 4/ Have a paid capital of a minimum of 5000 JD and 5/ Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the proposed action BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS 1/ Be a legal person and 2/ Be a Service association/federation dealing with the Services sector in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and 3/ Be registered at the relevant line ministry and 4/ Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the proposed action EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

OTHER CRITERIA * Duration: 1 month to 6 months maximum * Sectors: all services sectors (but negative list) * Location: EU 27 + ENP + IPA + League of Arab States + GCC * Actions: all types of actions against world crisis, such as changes to company/association strategy, challenges to company/association competitiveness, etc. (excluding individual sponsorships for participation to events or individual scholarships). * In case of approval, supporting documents to be delivered: (CDD for companies or Ministry register for BA, Paid Capital for companies and Social Security Corporation certificate) * Only one application per applicant and therefore only one contract per beneficiary * But possibility to apply for other schemes to be soon launched (see last slide) EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

  5. HOW TO APPLY? * Guidelines for grant application * Grant Application Form + Annexes * Application language: English * All documents must be fully completed. If not, rejection. * Deadline for submission of applications: Thursday April 30th 2009 at 2 p. m. * 1 Original + 3 copies A4 size + CD-Rom (or USB) * Destination address: JEDCO, * Systematic delivery of receipt notification (Stamps for date and hour) EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

GRANT APPLICATION FORM 1/ The action Description: title, location, cost, summary (1 page), relevance (1 page), effectiveness and feasibility (1 page), sustainability (2 pages), duration and indicative plan for implementing the action 2/ Budget for the action: needs to be realistic and cost-effective EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

EVALUATION PROCESS 1/ Administrative check of the application form: • Eligibility criteria • Submission deadline 2/ Evaluation grid on a total of 50 points (see next slide): • Relevance of the action (30 points) • Effectiveness and Feasibility (10 points) • Sustainability of the action (10 points) 3/ Minimum required to benefit from the grant: • 30 points out of 50 NB: In order to avoid conflict of interest, grant applications evaluators will be different from business developers supporting the grant applicant EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010

  9. PAYMENT MODALITY * Basis for payment: eligible direct costs only * Contingency reserve: 5% of direct eligible costs * Indirect costs: 7% of direct eligible costs * Pre-payment: 80% * Final payment: 20% on the basis of a final narrative and financial report EU-JE / JSMP 2009-2010
