2. Oda Nobunaga • The first leader that reunites Japan was Oda Nobunaga • When political order was broken down and daimyo were fighting each other Oda gave his soldiers guns to easily defeat his enemies

Tokugawa Ieyasu • After Oda’s death following his footsteps Tokugawa Ieyasu, conquered his enemies by the 1600s and became the new shogun in 1603 starting the “Rule by shoguns of the Tokugawa family.” • During the Tokugawa clan rule, Japan started to have contact with the outside world. The Tokugawa clan ruled Japan until 1608.
