Course Aim: To enable students to: 1- Provide information on petrochemical industries including raw materials, preparation and manufacturing of gas and liquid hydrocarbons , separation methods of paraffin’s, aromatics, and xylenes. 2- Know the Preparation and production of some petrochemical materials, detergents, plastics and synthetic Rubber. Intended Learning outcomes:
Intended learning outcomes(ILO,S) A- Knowledge and understanding: • a3-i Tell an introduction on petrochemical industries. • a3-ii Define the separation methods of paraffin’s, aromatics, and xylenes. • a3-iii Summarize the preparation of methanol, alcohol, and ammonia • a3-iv Explain the preparation and production of detergents, plastics and synthetic Rubber. • a5- Describe the preparation and manufacture of gas and liquid hydrocarbons. • a6-Name the raw materials suitable for petrochemical industries.
