November 1, 2013 Dear 2nd Grade Families, Happy November! We are working hard in second grade. The students just did a terrific job presenting our “Friends” song at the school wide assembly this past Wednesday. We are going to keep up the great work for the month of November. Here is where we are at academically: *Reading/Writing- Story elements (main characters, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle, and end), and sequencing words in writing. *Science- Pumpkin life cycle and maps. *Math- Math strategies with an emphasis on subtraction, such as -9, +9, and place value. *Spelling- Weekly spelling words taken from our spelling principle and high frequency word list. Thank you for all of your hard work at home. Have a wonderful month and as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at annapeterson@laconiaschools.org or call Woodland Heights at 603-524-8733. Sincerely, Miss Peterson Important Dates Classroom News Donations
