Penn State Pulse was initiated in Spring of 1995 by Student Affairs to gather feedback on student issues, expectations, usage, and satisfaction. Students, faculty, and staff suggest topics and contribute input into the design of the questions. Surveys are reviewed by the University Office for Research Protections and include participant consent. As of May 2005, 133 Penn State Pulse surveys have been completed http://www.sa.psu.edu/sara/pulse.shtml
