Requirements for each of the four specialty areas must also include the following: • 1/2 credit of a career/financial course • Independent Living • Careers in Health & Human Services • Career & Financial Management • At least one related work experience • CEIP (1/2 credit) • Cooperative Work Experience (1/2 or 1 credit) • Preschool Education Experience (1 credit) • School-Age Education Experience (1 credit) • Collaborative School-Business Partnership • Job Shadow

  34. Cooperative Work Experience (1/2 or 1 credit) • Must be enrolled concurrently in a Family & Consumer Sciences course. • 150 completed paid work hours = 1/2 credit • 300 completed paid work hours = 1 credit

  35. Family and Consumer Sciences All Aspects of Industry • A minimum of 1/2 credit from each of the four specialty areas (total of 2 credits) • Combined total of 5 credits required selecting courses from any FACS course strands. • AAFCS National Assessment in Broad Field Family and Consumer Sciences is currently available.
