Content Area: Physical Education: Swimming • Grade Level: 1.1.1. Demonstrate basic motor skills in three or more of the following categories: aquatics, dance, fitness activities, individual dual sports, outdoor pursuits, leisure pursuits, self-defense, team sports and cooperative games/activities • Summary: The student will be given videos to look at, and further study the strokes displayed. After watching, the student should be able to recognize differences between the strokes, the student will then answer questions pertaining to what they read. • Learning Objective: Given videos on how to swim the four main strokes, the student will be able to answer questions about the different strokes with 100% accuracy. • Content Standard: Analyze the capabilities and limitations of current and emerging technology resources and assess their potential to address personal, social, lifelong learning, and career needs. (4,5,6)
INSTRUCTIONS: • Using the website linked in the next slide, you will watch a video of an Olympic swimmer in a medley of the four basic strokes. After watching the video, you will answer the questions at the end of this Power Point about the different swim strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle).
