Why? Good Example or Bad Example?
Good or Bad? A girl runs into the bathroom because she’s in a hurry to get to choir class. She shouts to her friend to wait for her. She quickly splashes water on her hands and runs out to her friend who’s waiting.
Good or Bad? A boy uses the bathroom, and on his way out realizes he forgot to flush and wash his hands. He goes back into the bathroom to do those things.
Good or Bad? Your friend just left the bathroom after washing her hands, but you didn’t hear her flush. You leave the bathroom and let your friend know she forgot to flush.
Why? • Why is it important to have good hygiene? • Why does having a nice, clean school environment help you have pride in it? • Why do you think people behave disrespectfully in the bathroom?

Work with a group: Choose an area (Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe) Develop a skit that demonstrates an example and a non-example

Why? • Nobody gets hurt • We don’t bother students working in other classrooms • We know where all of the students are to keep them safe
Good or Bad? Jose bumped into Marissa in the hallway and her books fell to the ground. She was upset and started calling him names. Jose apologized for not paying attention and helped her pick up her books. His teacher gave him “Snake Bites” and Marissa thanked him for helping.
Good or Bad? Jose bumped into Marissa in the hallway and her books fell to the ground. She was upset and called him “jerk”. Jose got angry and told Marissa she was ugly and stupid. He walked away, and Marissa was late for class. She was so mad, she started to spread untrue rumors about Jose.

Let’s Play “Where Does it Happen?” Name all the places where each activity is allowed to happen.
Let’s Play “What Would YOU Do?” The bell rings after school and you want to be first in line. You ride the city bus, and it’s hot outside. Someone gets on the bus, and you have space in your seat. Your bus is late.
Arriving • Only cross the street where there are crosswalks and walk on sidewalks. • Wait for the first bell in the courtyard, gym, basketball court, or cafeteria (if eating) • Walk in the hallways • Wait patiently outside classroom doors • Keep hands, feet, and object to yourself • Keep your belongings with you • Use appropriate language on campus
Dismissal • Exit using ONLY designated doors • Walk in the hallway using appropriate behavior • Keep hands, feet, and objects to self • Keep all belongings with you • Use appropriate language
Why? • Nobody gets hurt • No one loses important items • Everyone gets to school and home safely
