  2. Human Urinary System

  3. The kidneys filter poisons from the blood • The ureters carry the urine to the bladder • The bladder stores the urine • The urine leaves the body through the urethra • The renal arteries supply the kidneys with blood • The renal veins drain the kidneys. They carry the blood purified by the kidneys • The adrenal glands sit on top of each kidney and release hormones in response to stress.

  4. kidney • Bean shaped organ the filters waste material. • The cortex is the outer portion between the medulla and renal capsule. • The pelvis is a structure located in the inner portion of the kidney that is involved in collecting urine and channeling it into the ureters. • The medulla is the innermost portion of kidney and it functions in maintaining water balance.

  5. kidney • The functional unit of each kidney is the nephron. The nephron filters poisons from the blood and forms urine.

  6. Human ear

  7. Outer ear- collects sound waves • Middle ear- an air filled cavity that transmits the signal to the ear drum. The middle ear includes the 3 bones, malleus, incus and stapes. • Inner ear-includes the organ of hearing the cochlea and sense organs that send signal to the brain and the brains then interprets the sounds.
