  1. Should there be harsher penalties for animal cruelty? Please hold all questions until the end of the presentation By Matthew Barber

  2. Why I chose my topic • I chose this topic because I am an animal lover. I will say I do have my dislikes of certain animals, but I still feel the same for them.

  3. Research I found I found there were forms of animal cruelty from the circus to TV. BOOM! tnt

  4. Research I found • What I found out was there are actually two forms of abuse which are… • Passive, which is not providing the right attention to the animal. • Active, which is coming in contact with the animal in a negative way (such as punching).

  5. Research I found • Ironically the law in North Carolina does NOT have a set law for jail time OR fines because it is actually determined by court so it varies per case.

  6. Research I found • Based on all this research, the answer to my question is there should be more harsher penalties for animal cruelty. I for one feel like my opinion is even stronger due to what I have learned.

  7. Obstacles I over came • I did have a hard time searching for the info I needed for my research paper, because I tend to probably use too many keywords. How many times a year do animals and pets get abused by people in the average town Search

  8. Successes I had • I found out I liked to volunteer at Petsmart and sometimes I go back just for fun.

  9. Link between research and product • I would say that the link between my research and product would be that they involve how animal cruelty works, and how you are to train and raise a pet so they are well behaved and healthy.

  10. My Product • MY product was volunteering at Petsmart adoption center on Saturdays and one time going to a vet’s office. • What I liked a lot at Petsmart was getting in the puppy pen, and they like me a lot. In fact the puppies big red and pinky wanted to wrestle me. • At the vets office, I learned there are a lot of things they do to pets like doctors do to us.
