  3. Charging • 4-5 hours for a full charge • Do not use cheap Dollar Store charges (causes overheating) • Save the battery-turn off Bluetooth, close the windows of open Apps • Charging Station in HS Commons

  4. Protect your Data • Set your password--But don’t forget it! • >Go to settings>general>passcode lock

  5. Clean it carefully • Use a microfiber cloth • No water or spray • Screen protectors ok

  6. You now have a school email address For students above 14yrs By law the school has to archive all email REMEMBER

  7. Your email address will be: • Your last name and 3 initials @students.uvstorm.org • Example: Rob Smith smithrob@students.uvstorm.org • Password: is the school network-password

  9. The Amazing World of APPS • Your iPad has many apps that have been pre-installed for you. We are hoping that these will help you become an even better student.

  10. This App can be used for writing essays • Write • Type • Illustrate • Record • Create • Annotate Check out the great tutorial they have in the 1st file

  11. iStudiez lite • Assignment App that will help you keep track of tests, projects and life • Set daily reminders on the calendar • Schedule planner and more

  12. Sky drive pro • Now you can take your school work home! • Log into the portal while you are at school to upload the files you want to use at home. • You will find this inside your email as a tab • Great tool to share projects with your group • You can get“ Word" at home!

  13. You may install other Apps at the Do not sync your iPad with your home computer. The school manages it for you.

  14. Organizing Apps • Hold app until it wiggles: • Touch the “X” to eliminate • Move app on top of each other to create a folder, to organize by topic. • Double click the home button to return to normal

  15. Surfing with Safari • Access to the Internet • When you are sending documents to your teacher be sure you are signed into the network • Save your sites by bookmarking,copyor add to the Home screen • Bookmark the UV portal

  16. Other iPad Tips Using the magnifying glass • Zone in to edit • Press finger and wait- it will appear • Release to cut, • paste and copy

  17. Closing files • Click 2x the home button • Swipe up to close files • This will help save the battery • Click 1x the home button to return

  18. Keyboard • Triple layer keyboard • Slide up on lower keys to reveal punctuation and symbols

  19. iPad a little Cranky? • If your iPad is freezing, try these steps : • Close the app>double click the home button and swish the page up. • Turn it off-power button, swipe the red bar. • Turn it back on. • Ask a geeky friend • Ask a teacher
