  2. Day One: Tuesday, November 1, 2013 • Quiet Question: Type Two Prompt---Ms. Barben is going to read aloud the BBC articles about a Taliban incident that happened in October 2012 in Pakistan. You should be using Active Reading strategies as she does. • Prompt: Using your Taliban and Afghanistan notes in the last lesson, identify and explain THREE connections between the content of the BBC articles and what we learned about the Taliban in class. • Article Information Taliban Notes Connection Explained

  3. Day One: Tuesday, November 12, 2013 • Class: Share connections. Ask the class how does the War in Afghanistan tie into our military action in Iraq? Discuss. • Class:Ms. Barben is going to do her Iraq Powerpoint Presentation, and you should take notes in the provided graphic organizer. • Homework: Read the provided supplemental reading on Iraq and add to the Powerpoint Notes. • Do the reading notes in a different color from the class notes like we did earlier in the unit with the Religions Lesson Plan. • Ms. Barben will check for points late this week.

  4. Days Two and Three: Block Day • Class: MsBarben is going finish her Iraq Powerpoint and you should finish the notes in the provided graphic organizer. • Homework: Work on the Unit Study Guide for the upcoming Second Unit Test. Begin to complete the Short Answer Take Home Part of the Second Unit Test examining the causes of conflict in the Middle East

  5. Friday, November 15, 2013 • Class: We are going to watch a film on Saddam Hussein and Iraq and you are to add to your notes. • Homework: Work on Study Guide and Take Home Short Answer Part of Unit Test.
