  2. Martins Dukurs ir latviešu skeletonists. Viņš ir dzimis 1984.gada  31. martā, Rīgā. Martins Dukurs is a Latvian skeleton racer. He was born on March 31, 1984 in Riga.

  3. Martins Dukurs ir 2010. gada Vankūveras Olimpisko spēļu sudraba medaļas ieguvējs, četrkārtējs Pasaules kausa izcīņas uzvarētājs, kā arī divkārtējs pasaules un četrkārtējs Eiropas čempions. Martins Dukurs is the Vancouver Olympic silver medalist in 2010, four-time World Cup winner and two-time world and four - time European Champion.

  4. Martins Dukurs ieguva titulu “Latvijas Gada sportists” 2008., 2012.gadā. Martins Dukurs won the titul “Latvian Sportsman of the Year” in 2010, 2011.

  5. Par sasniegumiem Olimpiskajās spēlēs Martinam Dukuram ir piešķirts Triju Zvaigžņu ordenis 2010.gadā. For the achievements in the Olympic Games Martins Dukurs has been awarded with the Order of the Three Stars in 2010.

Ar skeletonu Martins Dukurs nodarbojas kopš 1998. gada, Latvijas Olimpiskās vienības sastāvā — no 2004. gada. 2006. gada Turīnas Olimpiskajās spēlēs viņš ieguva 7. vietu, bet 2008. gada Pasaules čempionātā — 5. vietu. Martins Dukurs has competed in skeleton competitions since 1998, he is in the Latvian Olympic Team from 2004. He won the seventh place in the Turin Olympics in 2006 and the fifth place in the World Cup in 2008.

  7. 2009.—2010. gada Pasaules kausa izcīņā Martins Dukurs kļuva par uzvarētāju kopvērtējumā, gūstot uzvaras arī četros posmos, tai skaitā pēdējā — Īglsā, Austrijā , kad viņš vienlaicīgi kļuva arī par 2010. gada Eiropas čempionu. At the end of 2009-2010 Skeleton World Cup season Martins Dukurs won overall, gaining victory in four stages, including the last one in Igls, Austria, at the same time he became the European champion 2010.

  8. Martins Dukurs ir vienīgais neatkarīgās Latvijas sportists, kas uzvarējis Pasaules kausa kopvērtējumā kādā no ziemas sporta veidiem. Abus šos panākumus viņš atkārtoja 2010.—2011. gada sezonā, kad vēl kļuva arī par Pasaules čempionu. Martins Dukurs is the only Latvian athlete, who won the World Cup in one of the winter sports. Both these achievements he repeated for the 2010-2011 season, when he also became the world champion.

  9. 2012. gada sākumā trešo gadu pēc kārtas Martins Dukurs izcīnīja Eiropas čempionāta zeltu un uzvaru Pasaules kausa kopvērtējumā, kā arī otro reizi karjerā kļuva par pasaules čempionu.  At the beginning of 2012 the third year in a row Martins Dukurs won the European Championship gold and win the World Cup, as well as the second time in his career he became the world champion.

  10. Viņa brālis Tomass arī ir skeletonists, bet abu treneris ir tēvs Dainis. His brother Tomass is also a skeleton racer, but their coach is father Dainis.
