Student drop off, pick up, and parking will be available. Cafeteria service will be available from 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM only. WHO MAY ATTEND? Summer School is offered only to students currently in grade 10 or higher who need to recover credits. Upperclassmen have priority registration. TRADITIONAL CLASS ATTENDANCE Any student who is absent more than 8 hours per class session will be dropped. Illness, vacation, and family emergencies are absences and cannot be excused. Please Note: FOUR tardies = 1 hr. of absence. SUMMER SCHOOL 2014 APPLICATION PROCESS Students may submit applications within the enrollment windows determined by their grade level (see below). There will be no applications accepted after May 30th. Students will be notified of their summer school course assignment by June 13th. JUNE 23 - JULY 18, 2014 For M.V.U.S.D. students currently enrolled Grades 10 to 12 Summer Classes will be held on the Creekside High School Campus 24150 Hayes Ave Murrieta, California 92562 TRADITIONAL COURSES AVAILABLE CREDIT RECOVERY – English I, English II, English III, English IV, Government, Economics (Senior Subjects)) Traditional English courses are recommended for students who require assistance to access grade-level material Enrollment Priority: 1st Non graduating seniors needing 10 or fewer credits followed by current juniors and lastly sophomores APEX ONLINE CREDIT RECOVERY Enrollment Windows Online students are assigned a 90 minute per-day time slot in the computer lab. Students must attend the lab daily and also work independently outside of class. Students who demonstrate excellent progress may be released from their required daily lab attendance at the discretion of the teacher. All assessments will be administered on-site. Students who complete a course by the 10th day of Summer School may attempt a 2nd course. APEX summer school courses will meet UC/CSU requirements. APEX summer school courses do not meet NCAA non-traditional course requirements. To apply, complete the forms on this brochure, detach and return to your high school counselor. Students who failed or got a D in an academic class may APPLY to retake the class in summer school. Students will be accepted and enrolled in courses based on space availability We will NOT do registration on the first day of summer school. Attendance Requirement for Online program: Students will be required to attend a 90 minute lab session daily. Teachers may waive the daily attendance requirement of those students who are making excellent progress. Additionally: Students who are not working towards course completion will be withdrawn. ATTENDANCE AND DISCIPLINE ATTENDANCE POLICY Summer school rules require full attendance. There are no excused absences.
