RaDIATE News • Post-doc position • Dr. ViacheslavKuksenko (Slava) started in January at Oxford (viacheslav.kuksenko@materials.ox.uk) • Settling in, training, getting up to speed with project • Meeting at Oxford in end of January • NNUF progress • Still on track to accept activated materials in about 18 months (?) RaDIATE News • New Idea for irradiations: Front End Test Stand at RAL • 3 MeV protons (H-?) • 60 mA; 10% duty factor • 18-33 mm radius sigma beam spot • Energy upgrade later? • FRIB irradiation at GANIL in June • Heavy ion irradiation • micro-structure and micro-mechanics(?) • more later… P. Technical Meeting Topics • What should be the next 2 tech meeting topics? • DPA calculation • ASTM “standard” versus more technically “correct” MARS/FLUKA • MARS to FLUKA differences (?) • Can we come up with some validation test (based on known microstructural changes with DPA? • Low-energy to High-energy irradiation correlation • Can we get Gary Was for a guest lecture?
