Dec. 2 Energy Storage Workshop • Workshop focused on specific issues relating to Energy Storage Resource integration into ERCOT systems and PJM’s experience with its energy storage pilot program. • Workshop Takeaways: • Continued ETWG effort to identify remaining energy storage integration issues in ERCOT. • Bilateral follow-up between ERCOT and PJM Staffs to better understand the approach and results of PJM’s successful energy storage pilot program.

Dec. 14 ETWG regular meeting • Continued development of 4 draft Protocols amendments necessary to allow market participation by energy storage resources. • Energy Offer Caps for Make Whole Calculation • Mitigated Offer Cap for SCED Mitigation Purposes • Mitigated Offer Floor • Startup and Minimum Energy Offers Generic Caps

  5. Dec. 14 ETWG regular meeting (cont.) • Additional energy storage integration technical issues identified: • Verifiable Costs issues • RUC Verifiable Costs issues • Mitigated Offer Cap capacity factor adjustments

Dec. 14 ETWG regular meeting (cont.) • ETWG agreed to attempt to draft one NPRR which addresses all of the “caps and floors” values for energy storage resources, with separate line items for Compressed Air Energy Storage resources and for Battery storage resources. • ETWG hopes to bring the draft NPRR to the Feb. WMS meeting for review and discussion.
