  3. School Hours We start preparing for our day at 7:30 a.m Tardy Bell Rings at 7:45 a.m. School Ends at 2:15 p.m. After School Program (ASP) 2:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

  4. 7:30-7:55 am Unpack, Morning Work, 7:55-8:45 am Science/Social Studies 8:45-9:35am Specials Monday-Music., Tues.PE,Wed.-Technology Lab, Thurs.-Art, Friday- Double Day 9:35- 10:25am Reading/ Guided Reading/Centers 10:25-11:15am Language Arts 11:15am- 11:55pm Prepare for Lunch / Lunch11:24-11:54 11:55-12:15pm Recess 12:15-12:55pm Writing/ AR 12:55- 1:40 pm Math 1:40-2:00pm Magnifying Math 2:00- 2:15pm Pack Up 2:15 Dismissal Mrs. Kenney’s Class Schedule 2014-2015

  5. Fine Arts Academy Instruction that involves the integration of the arts ( music, visual arts, drama and dance) into core curricular areas.

Language Arts Curriculum • Based on the Georgia Performance Standards & Common Core Standard and has been planned and mapped out by Cherokee County through … • Balanced Literacy approach: Reading & Language Arts Series: Scott Foresman Reading Street Guided Reading (leveled text, flexible small groups) Literacy Centers Writing/Journals Shurley English Phonics Activities (make a word, word families, word work) Spelling Words /Challenge Words Word Wall Words Waterford Computer Program

  7. Math • Based on the Cherokee County Performance Standards & Common Core Standards • On Core/ Houghton-Mifflin • Math Games • Calendar Math: Date and Time Sequence Counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, Money, Weather, Tallies • Waterford Computer Program

  8. Science/ Socials Studies/ Health • Social Studies and Science is based on Georgia Performance standards • Science Series and textbook • Health is based on Georgia’s Q.C.C.’s • Literature Based, Hands on Activities, and arts integration

  9. Behavior Management Plan • We will use a “clip up/clip down” system. • Students may move up and down throughout the day. • They will earn or loose tickets based on where their clip is at the end of the day. • Notes will be sent home when a clip is on Parent Contact or at teacher’s discretion. • Tickets may be cashed in each Friday for prizes

  10. Things to know: • Check red folders and agendas nightly • Homework / Spelling Monday- Thursday night Turn on Friday Read every night • AR (Incentive Program) • Snack (healthy snack please and water only) • Wear tennis shoes on PE days • Transportation Changes in agenda • Absences/ Tardy • Parent Volunteers/ PTA • Parent /Teacher Conferences-Fall & Spring
