2.2.4. Developing the following layers for Polish marine waters: macrozoobenthos (species composition, abundance, biomass) laboratory analysis of samples from 2002-2005 2.2.5. Developing the following layers for Polish marine waters: demersal fish (species composition, biomass, spawning grounds, migrations 3.1.2.7 Studies of macrozoobenthos and meiofauna in the Puck Bay 3.1.2.8Analysis of macrozoobenthos and meiofauna samples and preparation of GIS layer Video footage captured with a towed underwater camera (20 km) 3.1.1.4
Developing of layers were based on the material from the entire Polish zone of the southern Baltic in years 1978-2005. The layers (shapefiles) include 20 macrobenthic species. The names of species were coded according to Rubin code and the European Register of marine species. Three layers have been developed: presence, abundance and biomass based on coordinate system PUWG 92. Vector polygon 5 kmx5 km was used.
The foollowing, most important, demersal species of fish were chosen: cod (Gadus morhua), European flounder (Platichtys flesus), European plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) and turbot (Psetta maxima). The data chosen for developing layers describe years 2006 and 2007. For biomass estimation data have been collected during scientific cruises of research vessel “Baltica” from the Sea Fisheries Institute in Gdynia. The data on fishing are based on the fishery statistics, collected by Ministry of Agriculture. Separately were describe different gear; bottom otter trawl and set gillnet.
